Synium’s Simon Cycling to Amsterdam
Next Wednesday, I will be joining the lovely people of Spring Housing for their Charity bike ride challenge – Cycling to Amsterdam in 4 days.
The journey starts from Dover, where we catch a ferry to Dunkirk, arriving at 1pm. Day one is the route from Dunkirk to Bruges; this is a lovely route along the French and Belgian coast, and then inland to Bruges – 57 miles for Day 1.
Day 2 is a bit more challenging; from Bruges to Antwerp – starting in Belgium, and then over the border into Holland – another lovely ride (hopefully) of 65 miles.
Day 3, sees us leave Antwerp, and head to Rotterdam – this is another 65 mile day.
The final leg (on Day 4 – Saturday) is from Rotterdam to Amsterdam – a distance of around 50 miles – making the total for the 4 days an impressive 235 miles.
There are a real mix of people on this challenge, from some very keen cycling enthusiasts to some complete cycling novices. For most it will be a real challenge – but one which should raise the awareness of this great organisation, and raise some sponsorship for them also.
If you can spare a few pounds, and would like to sponsor me, I would be very grateful – it is going to a wonderful cause.
I will try and post some pictures and updates from the trip… let’s hope the weather improves, and makes it a wonderful ride for all.
